Converted to a professional limited liability company in 1999, McWilliams & Thompson, PLLC is a firm that has been in existence in Collin County since 1977. In 1977, Stan McWilliams, who had been practicing law in McKinney since 1972, and the late Alex Orr, created a partnership  for the practice of law in McKinney, Collin County, Texas. Grady R. Thompson joined the firm in 1989.

Through his 32 years of practice, Mr. McWilliams has closed many thousands of real estate transactions. His banking and finance experience gives an added dimension to his real estate practice.
Mr. Thompson, who has been licensed since 1982 and has practiced in Collin County since 1984, handles business matters ranging from the creation and maintenance of business organizations to transactional matters involving sales, financing, and secured transactions. Mr. Thompson is also board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and handles a wide variety of civil trials and appeals, as well as probate matters.
